Job Summary

This is for our DALLAS LOCATION!!!!

The Assistant Editor works with the Editor to provide editorial support to the production through the management of the project.


• Interacts with editorial and production team members across dual locations, ensuring good communication exchange and sharing of edit information
• Participates in preparation and organization of editorial materials related to the film such as story reels, work prints, previews and tape outputs.
• Ingests, logs and organizes all production and scratch dialogue, making it available to Editors and Production as required.
• Assists in organizing, storing, handing and lining up digital and photographic elements.
• Organizes directories and files in logical organized manner
• During production, imports test, secondary and final animation
• Ensures the final edit list for both picture and sound are delivered to the appropriate vendors in preparation for distribution
• Compiles and maintains continuity and integrity issues list.
• Sets up dailies
• Operates reviews, often in various locations and using different playback equipment
• Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets
• Provide timing and cut info to production management and disseminate out to the crew as directed


• Bachelor’s (BA) degree from accredited four-year college or university or equivalent experience
• 1 – 3 year’s experience as an Assistant Editor, handling picture and sound/dialogue cutting management on a nonlinear editing system – Avid Media Composer preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of film terminology, film techniques, film editing styles, film mixing, and film in general
• Demonstrable ability to communicate thoughts and ideas to co-workers
• Able to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas, take direction and work well with others
• Able to multi-task and prioritize
• Able to thrive in a high pressure, deadline oriented environment
• Enjoy working in teams
• Able to follow directions well
