THIS IS A DALLAS BASED POSITION
The CG Supervisor is responsible for setting up a project and determining what artists and methods are necessary to deliver the projct. This includes interacting with directors and clients to provide solutions to all phases of production as required by the scope of the project on both a technical and creative level.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Evaluate the layout, modeling, rigging, animation, texture, fur, cloth, lighting and compositing needs of a project and develop and execute a strategy for incorporating all or some of these needs within the Radium/Reel FX pipeline
•Ability to evaluate pitches, proposals and ideas in order to identify methods and accurately evaluate the team and technical requirements of a project
•Work with a producers and creative leads to determine what is needed for the desired look and performance of a project and incorporate that into new or existing setups
•Write scripts and incorporate them into the pipeline, enabling the artists to efficiently prepare deliverables for the next phase of production
•Expand our team’s creative and technical capabilities and vision through continued experimentation, research and professional development
Education and Experience Requirements
Experience: •Requires 5 years minimum experience in Commercial and/or Feature Film production
•Experience leading a team and delegating tasks within that team
•High level knowledge of Maya
•Experience with programming/scripting languages (such as python, C++, perl, etc.) is a plus
•A history of consistent high-end technical and artistic execution
•Strong production experience in one or more of the following areas: layout, animation, modeling, textures, rigging, fur/hair, cloth, effects, lighting, or compositing
•Strong artistic skills, with a good eye for form and motion
•Experience with both Windows and Unix/Linux operating system
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
•A creative and collaborative problem solver who is organized and critical of his or her own work.
•Interest and ability to mentor artists and programmers
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Graphics, Computer Animation, Architectural/Industrial Design, or related field; or equivalent professional experience
